Luella, or Lula or Lulu as she was interchangably called, was born the 6th child (out of 13) of John C and Mary A (Sattler) Burkhardt. Lula was born in 1893. About this time in our history, photo technology was developing into something that a person could use on their own instead of having to go to a photography studio. The film was mailed in and the developer would glue the photos to postcards and returned for sharing with family and friends. From the amount of photos I have found, Lula would have loved our modern social technology as she was regularly sending postcard photos of herself to her big sister Emma Lucas.
Lula and Nate were were blessed with 3 children:
I have little information on sons Nathan and Albert. Nate passed in 1940 at the young age of 43. Lula passed in 1987 in Castlebury, Florida. They are buried at St. Rose Cemetery in Perrysburg, Ohio.

1980 ~ 1989One of the last continuously running Sebastian Lucas Reunions happened in the 1980's. The reunions always took place on the 4th Sunday of August. I am searching through family albums trying to find more photos.
1990 ~ 1999In 1992, we put together a gathering of the John J & Emma Mary (Burkhardt) Lucas families. We met on a nice day at Basic Park in Luckey, Ohio. I was so busy collecting information for the tree that I only took 2 photos. I know others were taking photos so if you have some, I'd love to add them here!
2000 ~ 2009Lawrence Lucas bought this tractor, 1942 Farmall A, in the 1940's from his brother Merlin Lucas. Merlin had 4 boys. The oldest, Jerry, spent alot of time with Dad on the farm helping out - and alot of time on the 'A'.
2010 ~ 2019
